EXPERIENCE OF THE ATTRIBUTION OF CHRONICLE MONUMENTS FROM THE LIBRARY OF KIRILLO-BELOZERSKY MONASTERY (BASED ON THE INVENTORIES AND REGISTERS OF THE 17th – 18th CENTURIES)

Introduction. During the 15th – 17th centuries, Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery was one of the largest ideological and book centers of North-Eastern Rus’, where outstanding scribes worked and where valuable historical and literary monuments were created and copied. The monastery’s book collection provided copies of the Typographical, Vologda-Perm, Pskov II, and other chronicles. An important aspect of studying chronicles is the problems of their place of creation and history of existence. Methods and materials. As part of the study, all surviving book inventories of the Kirillo- Belozersky Monastery of the 17th – 18th centuries were analyzed in order to determine the dynamics of replenishment of the library with historical monuments and to correlate the books mentioned in them with the manuscripts that have survived to this day. Analysis. It was established that by the end of the 17th century, more than 20 manuscripts were listed in the “Chroniclers” section of the monastery’s inventories of property. In 1703, according to the discovered register, they were transferred to the Moscow Printing House, from where they later ended up in the library of the Synodal Printing House, which is recorded in the “Universal Catalog” of 1727. Results. Based on a comparison of the inventories of the Printing House Library of the 18th century, the transfer register of 1703, and the inventories of property of the 17th century. It was possible to determine the history of the existence of more than 10 chronicle monuments that came from the library of the Kirillo-Belozersky monastery. Authors’ contribution. A.L.
