Abstract
This article examines the notion of “type of life” in the work of Juan David García Bacca, proposing it as a key organizing principle of his thought. It explores how a vital structure underlies epistemological and ontological systems, linking metaphor and concept in the configuration of a pluralistic and dynamic perspective on knowledge and existence. Through a hermeneutic-historical approach, it reconstructs the relationship between life, science, and art as constitutive dimensions of the human world. This analysis situates García Bacca’s work in dialogue with vitalism and contemporary philosophy of science, highlighting its relevance for rethinking non-reductive forms of rationality.
