Abstract

Abstract This study focuses on the influence of TOE (Technology, Organization and Environment) framework on the propensity for block chain adoption in the banking sector of Turkey and demonstrating how knowledge-intensive innovations can disrupt the banking sector and foster economic growth. A simple random sampling method has been used for sample selection with 300 sample size. Questionnaires were distributed among Turkish banks’ cyber security analysts, finance managers, and blockchain developers. Harman’s standard test value is 76%, and the model has no common bias problem. Cronbach Alpha and composite reliability all are above 0.7. AVE values are above 0.5. Factor correlation matrix values are less than off-diagonal values. KMO is 0.823. Multiple regression analysis suggests that Complexity, Competitive pressure, Security, and Regulatory Support are statistical significant with propensity for block chain adoption ( p < 0.05). Compatibility is not significant ( P > 0.05). For bankers TOE model is good if they adopt the blockchain process in the bank. The findings indicate that the TOE framework effectively serves as a theoretical model for the implementation of block chain technologies in banking systems, emphasizing the role of knowledge application in facilitating the digitalization process. This research enhances the discourse on the knowledge-based economy by conceptualizing and empirically analyzing contextual factors, specifically technological propositions, organizational preparedness, and regulatory encouragement that collectively influence the banking sector’s inclination to adopt disruptive technologies like block chain.
