A Utility's Approach to Educating the Next Generation of Water Professionals

Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) has developed a comprehensive Career Technical Education program to promote careers in the water industry. EMWD worked with its local school districts to develop its educational program with area teachers; it is based on a curriculum that meets state and national standards. The utility also has a Youth Ecology Corps program, which introduces young adults to career opportunities in the water industry through a partnership with the Riverside County Workforce Investment Board.
