Abstract

Jakarta has become one of the most congested metros in the world, primarily due to rapid growth and the high use of private vehicles. The current public transport system only covers certain corridors, failing to meet the needs of the growing population. To address these issues, a quick and innovative approach is required. This study aims to improve public transport provision by using Sketch Planning approach, targeting 80 premium suburban areas within Jakarta Metropolitan area with the main objective is to maximize the shift from private vehicles to public transport. Results indicate that by 2026, around 14,176 passengers will be served, with an estimated 8,340 passengers served by 2027, demonstrating the potential for significant improvement in public transport accessibility and ridership.
