Abstract

Analysis of seismic activity of the territory of Armenia was conducted in the context of its block structure. The main focus is on the study of the fault-block structure of the earth's crust, which plays a key role in the distribution of seismic activity. Using a complex of geophysical, geological, and seismological data, a structural-dynamic model of the earth's crust of Armenia was developed, divided into blocks of various orders, and the connection between faults and seismicity in the region was established. A comparison of earthquake epicenters with the proposed model showed that the epicenters are located within specific isolated blocks of the earth's crust. The main seismicity of the region is concentrated along the fault boundaries of tectonic blocks, making them key elements in assessing seismic hazard.
