Abstract
The teaching quality evaluation in college English translation course demands a holistic strategy that merges quantitative data and qualitative perceptions. This multifaceted system secures a full insight into curriculum operation, covering both theoretical command and practical competence that are core to English language majors. Assessing teaching quality for English translation course is regarded as a multiple-attribute decision-making (MADM) problem. Modern evaluation methods apply techniques, including Evaluation Based on Distance from Average Solution (EDAS) and entropy weighting, to solve such MADM issues. In this English translation course-oriented assessment, Z-numbers are adopted to describe ambiguous and uncertain data. This paper constructs a unified Z-number EDAS (ZN-EDAS) model to manage MADM issues in the Z-number context. To verify the feasibility of the proposed method, a practical case focusing on local colleges' English translation course teaching quality assessment is offered to illustrate the ZN-EDAS method.
