Abstract
Adventure-based learning (ABL) is a model that emphasizes learner-focused immersion through hands-on experiences and promotes the development of personal and social skills. Recent revisions to the SHAPE America National Physical Education Standards have highlighted the importance of the affective domain, focusing on developing interpersonal relationships, offering choices, and encouraging personal growth through physical activity. Adventure-based learning aligns seamlessly with these standards, and makes it an ideal approach to enhance learning in the affective domain through direct experience and integrated assessment practices. This article aims to offer practical assessment tools that help both current and future educators to effectively evaluate affective skills within ABL contexts.
