Nos bastidores de um jornal operário: os desafios de produção e circulação da imprensa anarquista em São Paulo (1901-1935)

This article aims to examine some of the key anarchist periodicals published in the city of São Paulo between 1901 and 1935. The analysis focuses on three main aspects: graphic design (layout), administration (funding and printing), and circulation (distribution networks). Additionally, it explores the role of their creators—referred to here as worker-journalists—in the production of these print materials, highlighting the contentious relationship between these publications and the commercial press. Ultimately, the study seeks to demonstrate that São Paulo’s anarchist press succeeded in developing a unique journalistic framework, whose common features reflect the mobilization of libertarian sympathizers to share experiences and ideals—all driven by the pursuit of a more just, borderless, and egalitarian world.
