Abstract

Robotic-assisted surgery has gained prominence in orthopedic practice due to its precision, enhanced visualization, and minimally invasive nature. While robotic applications for orthopedic surgery are well established in arthroplasties, their use in soft-tissue surgery remains limited. This study presents the indications, technique, and clinical outcomes of robotic-assisted latissimus dorsi tendon transfers for shoulder reconstruction. The robotic approach allows accurate identification of the axillary and radial nerves, minimal soft-tissue trauma, reduced bleeding, and excellent cosmetic outcomes. The system's motion scaling and tremor filtration enhance precision. Robotic-assisted shoulder surgery is a safe and minimally invasive technique for tendon transfers around the shoulder.
