Abstract

This paper is based on a webinar delivered on 10th July 2025 for the Britain Palestine Project. It examines the impact of war on the children in Gaza, including developmental delay, symptoms of psychological trauma and the consequences on the mind of the child as they attempt to defend against them. It looks at the science behind those symptoms and their effect not only on the developing brain but also their effect on the baby in utero whose development may be compromised by severe maternal trauma. The paper cites the work of Palestinian and western researchers and clinicians.
