Building a Developmental Relationship in the Forensic Context

The civil forensic context represents a social control setting in which the Court requests specific assessments. In a non-therapeutic context, is it possible to co-construct a developmental relationship? To explore this question, we used the TIAP observational tool, based on a systemic-constructivist-processual model, which highlights family system functioning and the contribution of individuals in co-constructing interactive dynamics. TIAP was applied in 15 cases of high-conflict separation managed by the Court-Appointed Expert (CTU). Results show that the tool integrates linear analyses, promotes understanding of relational circuits in action, and provides a shared framework to guide intervention not in defense of the individual, but in support of the family system as a whole.
