НЕ ТОЛЬКО ПОЛЯКИ: ЗАБЫТОЕ ВОЗЗВАНИЕ НИКОЛАЯ НИКОЛАЕВИЧА К «РУССКОМУ НАРОДУ» ГАЛИЦИИ

Воззвание Верховного главнокомандующего Николая Николаевича «Русскому народу» от 5 августа 1914 года до сих пор почти не привлекало внимания историков и упоминалось ими лишь в связи с широко известным воззванием того же адресанта к полякам. В статье впервые в историографии «русское» воззвание рассматривается как самостоятельный документ. Прослеживаются обстоятельства его издания и распространения, анализируется содержание воззвания, а также реакция на него русского общества и населения оккупированной Галиции. Аргументированно опровергается версия, что в основу текста легли наработки галицийских русофилов, – их риторика существенно расходилась с тезисами воззвания. Обращение Николая Николаевича нельзя считать программой «русификации» Галиции: напротив, оно было выдержано в весьма нейтральном ключе и не давало чёткого представления о характере будущего присоединения региона к России. Бурной реакции в самой России слова главнокомандующего, обращённые к «русскому народу», не вызвали, затерявшись на фоне обращения к полякам и более позднего воззвания «Народам Австро-Венгрии». До середины 1915 г. воззвание упоминалось лишь в спорах представителей украинского движения и их противников, где каждая из сторон трактовала содержание документа в свою пользу, а затем исчезло из общественного дискурса. The manifesto of сommander-in-сhief Nicholas Nikolaevich to the «Russian people» from August 5, 1914, has attracted almost no attention so far among historians, being mentioned only in connection with the well-known manifesto of the same author to the Poles. For the first time in history studies, the article considers the «Russian» proclamation as an autonomous document. The circumstances of its publication and distribution are traced, the text of the manifesto is analyzed, as well as the reaction of Russian society and the population of occupied Galicia on this document. The version that the text was based on works of Galician Russophiles is argumentatively refuted, because their rhetoric significantly differed from the points of the manifesto. Nicholas Nikolaevich's appeal cannot be considered a program of Galicia’s «Russification». On the contrary, it was written in a very neutral manner and did not give a clear idea of the nature of the region's future accession to Russia. The words of the commander-in-chief addressed to the «Russian people» did not cause a violent reaction in Russia itself, being lost against the background of an appeal to the Poles and a later manifesto to the «Peoples of Austria-Hungary». Until the middle of 1915, the appeal was recalled only in disputes between the Ukrainian movement’s representatives and their opponents, so, both sides interpreted the contents of the document in their favor. Later, the manifesto vanished from the public discourse.
