Abstract

The increasing incidence of cancer among young patients requires preservation of reproductive potential during chemotherapy. Cytostatics are known to cause gonadotoxic effects that may lead to infertility. This study aimed to experimentally evaluate the gonadotoxic effects of cyclophosphamide and assess morphological and functional changes in reproductive tissues. Experimental models were used to analyze histological and physiological parameters after chemotherapy exposure. The results demonstrate significant structural and functional alterations in gonadal tissues caused by cytostatic treatment, indicating the necessity for development of protective strategies to preserve fertility in patients undergoing chemotherapy.
