Abstract
This study focused on the integration and application of multimedia elements and computer-aided design technology in animation design by using mixed research methods to analyze the virtual reality animation project Gujian Xinsheng as an empirical object. The results showed that the integration of the two significantly improves the efficiency of animation production. For example, the time of single-building modeling was shortened by 62.4%. The visual effect improved, and the scene realism score was increased by 39.2%. The interactive experience was superior, and the cognitive load was reduced by 42.3%. However, the integration faces challenges in technology, creation, and empirical research in practical applications, such as real-time rendering pressure, limited artistic creativity, and insufficient universality. Future studies should optimize the technology, innovate creative ideas, expand empirical research, promote its wider and deeper application in the field of animation design, and promote the development of digital creative industry.
