An annotated type catalogue of gobionid fishes (Gobionidae) described by L.S. Berg

The catalogue presents information about type specimens of species, subspecies, and forms of gobionid fishes described by L.S. Berg, which are kept in the ichthyological collection of the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ZIN) in Saint Petersburg. A total of about 80% of the gobionid forms described by L. Berg are represented by type specimens at ZIN. The collection houses type specimens representing twelve taxa of the family Gobionidae: seven species, one subspecies, and infraspecific forms: two morphs (morpha), one variety (varietas), and one nation (natio). Of all these gobionid taxa described by L. Berg, one genus and two species are currently considered valid. One infraspecific and one infrasubspecific form are elevated to the rank of species.
