Abstract

This paper critically analyzes the working conditions of women’s shelter (CAV) staff in Italy, with a particular focus on the Puglia Region, against the backdrop of tensions between care ethics, structural precarity, and the institutionalization of fem-inism. Through a survey-based empirical investigation and an analysis of contem-porary feminist literature, the study highlights how anti-violence work is now af-fected by dynamics of precarization, performativity, and epistemic invisibilization, partly fueled by the adoption of quantitative evaluation tools. The findings call for a critical review of funding policies, professional recognition, and service evaluation, placing the question of social and epistemic justice at the core of gender-based violence prevention.
