Abstract

Calotropis, a common wild plant in India, is known to produce milky latex that can be highly toxic to ocular tissues. Accidental exposure to its latex during religious or agricultural activities often results in acute ocular inflammation. This case series highlights the clinical spectrum, management, and outcomes of ocular toxicity induced by Calotropis. We analyzed the four cases of ocular exposure to Calotropis latex presenting to our tertiary care center over the month (Ganesh Chaturthi). Patient demographics, symptoms, slit-lamp findings, intraocular pressure, treatment modalities, and clinical outcomes were recorded and analyzed.
