Abstract

A new method called maximal independent cover is introduced in this paper to study the well-coveredness of the Cartesian product of an arbitrary graph with a complete graph. Making use of this technique, we give complete characterizations about the Cohen-Macaulayness of Hamming graphs and their complements, respectively.
