Abstract

Ba­sed on un­pu­blis­hed arc­hi­val do­cu­ments, pu­blis­hed so­ur­ces, and rele­vant li­te­ra­tu­re, this pa­per exami­nes the de­ve­lop­ment of air trans­port between Yugo­sla­via and the So­vi­et Uni­on from its be­gin­nings in 1946 un­til the ces­sa­ti­on of ser­vi­ces between the Fe­de­ral Re­pu­blic of Yugo­sla­via and the post-So­vi­et sta­tes in 1992. In ad­di­ti­on to the air transport agre­e­ments and the in­tro­duc­ti­on of air ser­vi­ces, the work of the Yugo­slav–So­vi­et Ci­vil Avi­a­ti­on Com­pany YUSTA and the use of So­vi­et pas­sen­ger air­craft in Yugo­slav air transport are al­so co­ve­red.
