Abstract

Four distinct morphoecological groups were distinguished when analyzing the intraspecific structure of the Greenland halibut Reinhardtius hippoglossoides in the Sea of Okhotsk. Using age-length keys derived from stained otolith sections, it was confirmed that the von Bertalanffy growth equations, separately parameterized by both sex and sea region, were valid. Due to the low stock of Greenland halibut in the Sea of Okhotsk, a differentiated approach to exploiting this resource is already required, at least in the western and eastern parts of the sea.
