This work presents the experience in robot-assisted decompression of the left common iliac vein in May-Thurner syndrome and discusses various open and endovascular surgical techniques used in this procedure.
Abstract
May-Thurner syndrome is characterized by common iliac vein compression between the iliac artery and the spine with various clinical symptoms (left lower extremity edema, inguinal pain, varicocele and reproductive disorders). Conservative management is ineffective because it does not treat iliac vein compression. Today, there are various open and endovascular surgical techniques. We present our experience in robot-assisted decompression of the left common iliac vein.
