Case Series of Breast Carcinoma Erysipeloides Confined Within a Prior Radiation Therapy Treatment Field

Carcinoma erysipeloides (CE), is a form of cutaneous metastatic disease characterized by invasion of dermis and subcutis by malignant cells through superficial dermal lymphatic vessels1. CE presents with a sharply demarcated erythematous plaque, resembling erysipelas and is difficult to distinguish from infection1,2. Amongst breast cancer patients, CE is rare accounting for only approximately 1-3% of all cutaneous metastases3,4.
