Abstract

Emetophobia, an emotional and behavioral disorder, is characterized by a specific phobia of vomiting. Evidence suggests that emetophobia is a chronic and disabling condition that causes significant impairment in daily functioning with a surprising number of students affected. This article provides educators with information about emetophobia. In addition, the article highlights evidence-informed strategies and recommendations to address the needs of students struggling with emetophobia in educational settings.
