Abstract

This empirical study examined fintech adoption in the health-care sector in Saudi Arabia from patients' perspectives. A cross-sectional survey design was employed using an online questionnaire assessing perceived ease of use, social influence, facilitating conditions, personal innovativeness, and perceived trust. Adult patients from public hospitals in Saudi Arabia participated in the survey, and 403 valid responses were analyzed. The findings revealed that personal innovativeness (mean = 3.85) and perceived trust (mean = 3.79) significantly influenced patients' intention to adopt fintech solutions in health-care settings. Demographic analysis further showed that younger adults aged 18 to 30 years (38.0%), urban residents (40.9%), and female participants (42.4%) demonstrated significantly higher receptiveness toward fintech adoption (p < .05). The study highlighted the importance of strengthening trust and encouraging innovative attitudes among patients to support fintech integration within Saudi Arabia's health-care sector and improve adoption across different population groups.
