The results show that the PMMA–PEG–Si 3 N 4 nanocomposites have high anti-bacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli and in addition, the PMMA–PEG–Si 3 N 4 nanocomposites’ films have high linear attenuation coefficients for radiation shielding.

Abstract

The PMMA–PEG–Si 3 N 4 nanocomposites’ films are fabricated by casting method with different ratios of Si 3 N 4 nanoparticles (NPs) of 0, 1.6, 3.2, 4.8 and 6.4 wt.% to use for antibacterial defence and  -radiation shielding. The PMMA–PEG–Si 3 N 4 nanocomposites’ films are tested for antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli . The results show that the PMMA–PEG–Si 3 N 4 nanocomposites have high anti-bacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli . In addition, the PMMA–PEG–Si 3 N 4 nanocomposites’ films are tested for  - radiation shielding. The results show that the PMMA–PEG–Si 3 N 4 nano-composites’ films have high linear attenuation coefficients for  -rays. Плівки
