Pregnancy and Diabetes Racial/Ethnicity Health Disparities in a Large Integrated Health System.

Diabetes in pregnancy is associated with greater risk of maternal and fetal complications. However, studies exploring the impact of race and ethnicity on pregnancy outcomes using real-world data are limited. This study compared differences in established risk factors and pregnancy outcomes by diabetes status and race/ethnicity. The analysis showed that diabetes diagnosis was associated with worse outcomes overall. The increased risk of serious maternal and fetal outcomes associated with diabetes varied disproportionately by race/ethnicity.
