Abstract

In the era of ever-evolving technological advancements and growing concerns about data privacy, exploring the crucial intersection between emerging technologies and data privacy protection regulations is crucial. The objective is to understand how cutting-edge technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), and biometric authentication, can be harnessed to strengthen data privacy safeguards in a rapidly changing digital landscape. This study investigates the positive and negative implications for incorporating these technologies into the framework of data privacy regulations, while emphasizing the importance of striking a balance between innovation and the protection of individuals’ personal information. The findings suggests that a comprehensive approach to data privacy must integrate these technologies with strong emphasis on privacy by design, policies with consent management, ethical consideration that evidenced transparency and auditability, and education. This study contributes to ongoing discourse on data privacy in a digitalized world and offers insights into the future of data protection in the age of technological innovation.
