Successful conservative management of an intravesicular haematoma in a cat with prior urethral obstruction

An 8‐year‐old male neutered domestic shorthair cat was presented for the management of severe anaemia and post‐urethral obstruction care. A large intravesicular lesion, which was suspected to be a haematoma, was identified via abdominal ultrasound. This was suspected to be secondary to bleeding in the urinary tract. Supportive care was provided, and the bladder lesion was monitored, with full resolution occurring 4 weeks later. This report demonstrates the potential longevity of haematomas within the bladder and the potential for success with conservative management.
