Abstract
I f you are a member of AWWA, it is likely you have spotted examples of the "No Water, No ___ " campaign elevated by AWWA to build awareness of water's significance in our daily lives. At right is a fun "No Water, No [fill in the answer]" crossword puzzle featuring the numerous ideas developed by AWWA and many of its sections.Have fun testing your "No Water" knowledge.A note of thanks: It is not well known outside of the Denver area that the creators of the first "No Water, No ___ " slogan were members of the Denver Water Public Affairs team, along with their very creative advertising partners Sukle Advertising & Design. With Sukle's help, Denver Water launched the "Use only what you need" campaign with a mustard-yellow tee shirt that simply said, "No Water, No Beer" and below that, "It's a drought; do something."This was the beginning of a multipronged community strategy that helped pull Denver out of a drought that lasted from 2002 to 2006.Today, AWWA uses "No Water, No ___ " to promote how important water is to the things we value-a similar message to Denver Water's conservation campaign but with a different slant.
