Abstract
This study conducted a feasibility test by comparing a commercialized walking-assistive device (WAD) and a developed motor-driven mobile walker (MDMW) in 4 stroke survivors. As a result of this feasibility study, the MDMW showed a low average satisfaction level compared with the commercialized WAD in all 3 areas and required further improvements in convenience and stability during one hand driving. However, the MDMW may enable efficient energy use by reducing the physical burden without notably changing gait patterns. These results will provide basic data for the development of WADs for stroke survivors and may help in decision-making regarding the selection of WADs.
