Abstract

Stillbirth prevention requires a multifaceted approach focused on identifying and managing placental insufficiency-the leading cause in high-resource settings. Traditional risk factors such as age and body mass index have limited predictive value, emphasizing the need into investigation using ultrasound, Doppler studies, and biomarkers for universal screening. Effective interventions include low-dose aspirin, which reduces placental-related complications, and optimal management of maternal conditions like hypertension and diabetes. Broader strategies such as education on fetal movement, smoking cessation, and structured "stillbirth prevention bundles" show promise. Research is needed to refine risk stratification and optimize timing of delivery to reduce stillbirth rates further.
