Abstract
Abstract Leo Strauss’s groundbreaking studies are a treasure trove of scholarship, insight, and wisdom. In this essay, I reply to a defense of his reading of Pascal’s Pensées by one of the co-editors of the anthology, Leo Strauss on Religion. In my reply, I register my reservations about Strauss’s method and methodology, and attempt to sketch an alternative reading of Pascal.
