Abstract
There are water inequalities in regions with high hydrological availability, and studies on the indirect relationship between the natural availability of water and the satisfaction of the vital needs of the population are fundamental. Among the solutions, rationality, which understands water as a source of life, defending the “Bem Viver” as an alternative to the advance of destruction, as we will see in this study. With the objective of analyzing the different rationales about water in the territory of the Carapitanga River, constituted by four traditional communities (two indigenous people, a quilombo and a caiçara community) and located in the municipality of Paraty, in Brazil Through qualitative research by data analysis The conclusion is that identifying the rationales makes it possible to reveal points that generate conflicts, facilitating the elaboration of preventive social policies for problems related to water and sanitation management.
