As the memory of the Holocaust undergoes a process of reconfiguration eighty years after the liberation of the Nazi camps, this article investigates the thread that weaves together memory, imagination and ethics in Georges Didi-Huberman’s work. It seeks to show how this constellation of concepts articulates a vital critical instrument for contemporary thought – one capable of rigorously engaging the visible, the unspeakable, and the inheritance of trauma, while also confronting urgent challenges such as the disappearance of witnesses, the saturation of memorial forms and the political instrumentalization of the past.
