Aufgaben literarischer Korpora und literarischer Belege für die Lexikographie. Grundlagen und Beispiele zum neueren Deutsch

Abstract In this article, I discuss the role of literary corpora and literary quotations in the context of digital lexicographical systems of present day German. In section 1, I start off with a diagnosis of current praxis and an important development in copyright legislation. In section 2, I give six reasons for intensifying the use of literary quotations in present day lexicography. In section 3, I give examples of the specific values of literary quotations, also in respect of the artistic nature and the narrative functions of literary texts. In section 4, I delineate augmented research possibilities that come with digital systems which include a corpus component. Section 5 wraps up the main results.
