Factors Affecting University Archiving Performance in Central Java

Abstract This study examines the effects of archival facilities, funding, and archivists’ competence on university archiving performance accountability in Central Java. Using a quantitative causal approach with regression analysis, the study involved 248 archivists from four universities: UNNES, UNDIP, UNSOED, and UNS, drawn from a population of 650. The results show that these factors collectively explain 79.40% of performance accountability, with facilities contributing 60.90%, funding 50.10%, and competence 77.30%. The study recommends prioritizing archive infrastructure, ensuring adequate budget allocation for effective archive management, and providing targeted training to enhance archivists’ competence.
