A Fhir Iomtha an Aosa Téad: Aoir Ar Reacaire

Abstract:Following on from an edition of Athraigh gléas, a Ghiolla Íosa in Ériu 73, this article provides an edition (with translation and notes) of A fhir iomtha an aosa téad, a short satire on a reacaire whose recital of poetry and harp accompaniment leave much to be desired. It is one of a handful of short occasional satires on members of the entertaining classes composed at the end of the classical period.
