Integration of Faith and Scholarship at Secular Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria

The Great Commission requires Christians even in the workplace to propagate the gospel. This demands that Christian scholars integrate their faith into their scholarship. But how can Christian scholars working in secular institutions operationalize such an integration? This study investigated how Christian academics in secular tertiary institutions in Nigeria understand the idea of integrating faith and scholarship. An open-ended online questionnaire was administered to 47 Christian scholars. Qualitative analysis revealed that Christian academics conceptualized integration of faith and scholarship in terms of exemplary lifestyle, evangelism in school, as well as teaching and research excellence.
