Linguistic anchors in Constantin Noica’s Treatise on Ontology

The article, based on Constantin Noica’s Tratat de ontologie [Treatise on Ontology], identifies some philosofical speculations which use highly credible linguistic phenomena to prove their demonstration. Conveying two of his own philosophical concepts, in tandem, closure – opening, at the end of a demonstration of great finesse, Constantin Noica reaches the conclusion that philosophy and pragmatics are two related sciences, both based on the human being. Then, he considers that spatial prepositions are true ontological particles, and that, through the same closing-opening mechanism, the birth of languages can be explained. Two other concepts, derived from openness, limitation – non-limitation, can explain the emergence of poetic language which, of course, is the prototype of limitation that does not limit, just as a unity of opposites (space-time) is specific to poetic language, so that, finally, as a culmination of the previous argument, he approaches the role of language in the evolution of culture.
