Translations play an evident yet understudied role in Baldwin’s circulation in the non-Anglophone world. This survey presents responses from a host of European translators of Baldwin’s work to questions about their translation practices, their views on Baldwin’s general contemporary popularity, and his appeal in their respective language spheres.
