Enhanced recovery protocols (ERP), also referred to as enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) and fast track protocols are standardized procedures and practices that are used during the perioperative period in patients undergoing specific surgical procedures (1). They are reported to improve patient outcomes following a wide variety of surgical procedures.
