tlooto Summary

Philosophical essay on interdependence between humans and non-human nature challenges Western legal systems' anthropocentric assumptions.

Abstract

: This is a philosophical essay on the interdependence between man and non-human nature. From the moment that man no longer understands himself as the center of material nature and begins to recognize the “intrinsic value” of all things, regardless of the service they provide to man, the human being is gradually marginalized, while the elements of nature are recognized as having rights: animals, rivers... With this approach, increasingly widespread, the foundations of Western legal systems, built on Judeo-Christian anthropocentric assumptions, are being subverted.
