Family planning: a human right for women.

Cultural factors determining the low rate of contraceptive practice in Sub-Saharan Africa are examined, using data concerning 164 women in Cross-River State, Nigeria, to suggest that cultural mores prevent these women from exercising their rights to education, employment, and community participation and from an awareness of family planning options.
