The structure of different commercial synthetic hydroxyapatite powders and a novel carbonated apatite have been studied with photo-acoustic (PAS) Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy to understand the interfacial relationship between a bioceramic implant and the adjacent bonet issue.
