Neither testosterone levels nor aggression decrease when the male Mongolian gerbil (Meriones unguiculatus) displays paternal behavior.

Testosterone concentrations were correlated with paternal care as well as aggression, and it is shown that Mongolian gerbil testosterone levels do not decrease when the males give paternal care, indicating that there is no trade-off between aggression and paternal behavior.
