Study on FEM-Based Topological Optimization Design of Brackets

The structure topological optimization mathematical model is created with the variable-density method.The processes of structure topological optimization with FEM are introduced.As an example,a bracket of a car was optimized with HYPERMESH software,and bench tests of the optimized bracket were done.Test results indicate that structure topological optimization result is irrelevant with loads;the optimized structure with the FEM-based topological optimization method is rational.
