Moisture properties in soil profiles and their relation to landform at Zhonglianchuan small watershed

Abstract
Analysis about soil water properties of the soil profiles along the transection of shoulder to footslope and their relation to landform were made on the Zhonglianchuan watershed in a semiarid and loess hilly area. The results showed that the content of coarse silt (0.05~0.02 mm), fine silt (0.02~0.005 mm), and clay (0.01 mm ) were 47.9%, 24.9% and 28.0%, respectively. Soil physical clay content followed the order of backslope shoulder footslope, which correspondingly influenced the soil water properties.
