Abstract
In order to provide the theory basis for mulch-drip irrigation,field experiments were performed to study the effects of irrigation frequency on the growth and yield of maize in aeolian sandy soil.The results showed that the amount of irrigation water decreased and rainwater were used more efficiently as irrigation frequency decreased;irrigation frequency had little effect on stem diameter,while stem length and LAI grew better as irrigating every 6~9days;The effects of irrigation frequency on ear length,ear rows,and weight per 100 kernels were different yearly,and irrigation frequency had little effect on ear coarse.However,kernels per row and weight of kernels per ear decreased as irrigation frequency decreased,while bare tip length had the opposite trend.Bothe yield and WUE had a parabolic increase trend with the decreasing irrigation frequency;the treatment irrigated with a interval of 9days got the highest yield and WUE,reaching 11.2t/hm2 and 2.0kg/m3 respectively.Therefore,in aeolian sandy soil area,9-day irrigation frequency was recommended.
