A new map showing the distribution of granites in South China is reported and its explanatory notes are given here. This map is based on previous relevant maps and incorporates the latest data of major element analysis and chronology obtained in the study of granites of South China in the past 15 years. It shows the distribution characteristics of granites of varying ages and alumina saturation indices.
